Your respiratory system is not a single dial you turn up or down. It is a set of distinct neurological circuits, each activated by a specific breathing pattern, each producing a different physiological outcome. The right pattern at the right moment is the difference between optimising your nervous system and working against it.

A breathing strategy that works perfectly before a heavy lift will actively work against you if you use it to fall asleep. The protocol that gives you maximum recovery after a hard session is not the same one that keeps you sharp and alert during competition.

This is not about breathing more or less, slower or faster. It is about knowing which circuit you need to engage — and having the tools to engage it on demand.
